My custom nation name wont show up ingame.
For custom nations names to take effect, you need to assign a leader for the ideologies you wish to replace the default names for. So to replace Bourbon France, you need to replace the Neutrality ideology leader.

So i have done that but it doesnt work. Do i have to assign a name for the party as well, and a photo of the leader?
That's very strange, as everything looks like it should be working. Do you get any errors when running the game in debug mode?
As an aside, the expire date for the leader is invalid. Dates need to follow the format YYYY.MM.DD
So 1940/05/06 becomes 1940.05.06
It just gives me loads of errors is there any specific one i need to look for?
It's possible that the last line of the error log, which you originally replied with, explains the name:
[16:04:00][gameapplication.cpp:713]: The game has loc key collisions. Check logs/text.log for more details
This happens when the game's localisation keys aren't being overwritten in the same file. This shouldn't be happening, and you may need to report this error to PDX.
Just to check, with the leader's portrait. This is for Non-aligned France, using the latest version of the game (or a 1.11.X release)?
Yes it is for non allined france and i am using the latest version.

So I have a napolionic 'french empire' in my mod. The thing is, it appears as 'borbon france' ingame even though i have not set its name to that.
